Ho Chi Minh City: Buddhist leader extends Christmas greetings to Catholics

Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tánh, Vice President of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Head of Ho Chi Minh city VBS Executive Committee led a delegation to visit Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese Cathedral on December 20 on occasion of Christmas 2016.

Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc of Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese and priests of the archdiocese’s Pastoral Centre welcomed the Buddhist delegation.

At the visiting reception, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Tánh extended best wishes and merry Christmas to Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc and Catholic followers. The two religious leaders also expressed pleasure at the fine relation of the two major religions in the city and contributions by Buddhists and Catholics to social development in the city.

On this occasion, two sides also exchanged on social, charitable activities and environmental protection by local Buddhist and Catholic followers over the past year.
