Ho Chi Minh city: Binh Khanh Caodai parish inaugurates new oratory

11/04/2015

Binh Khanh Caodai parish solemnly inaugurated its new oratory at a ceremony held in Can Gio district on October 24.

Attending the ceremony were Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, President of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Văn Lượng and over 1,000 followers inside and outside the locality.

Binh Khanh Caodai parish was established and built its worshipping facility in 1947. In 1962, the oratory was relocated and rebuilt by temporary materials. It’s again relocated in 1990 as a result of expansion of Rung Sat road and rebuilt by semi-solid materials. As this oratory was degraded after over 20 years of existence, the parish started building its new oratory according to a Church’s model in early 2012. The new oratory has been completed after three years of construction.
