Hanoi: Tay Ho district Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Committee reviews its performance 2014

Tay Ho district Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee reviewed its activities in 2014 and approved a working program for 2015 at a meeting held on Dec. 26.

Attending the meeting were Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice-Chairman of the VBS Executive Council cum Head of Hanoi VBS Executive Committee, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhã, Deputy Head of the central VBS Rituals and Ceremonies Committee and abbots of pagodas in the district.

Local guests at the meeting included Mr. Lê Văn Cửu, Chairman of Hanoi city Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Đinh Trọng Sơn, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ho district People’s Committee and district authorities’ representatives.

At the meeting, Venerable Thích Nguyên Chính, Secretary of Tay Ho district VBS Executive Committee briefed about Buddhist activities in the district in 2014 as well as the draft plan of activities for 2015.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Đinh Trọng Sơn, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho district People’s Committee highlighted contributions made by monks, nuns and Buddhists to the socio-economic development of the district and expressed his hope that monks, nuns and Buddhists in the district would further promote social activities and make practical contributions to community development in the locality.

On this occasion, Tay Ho district People’s Committee presented a certificate to pagodas and individuals in the district for outstanding achievements in Buddhist affairs 2014.
