Ha Tinh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee solemnly celebrated Buddha’s Birthday 2015 at a ceremony held in Huu Lac pagoda on May 24.
Joining the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh, representatives of local authorities and over 1,000 Buddhists from localities.
During the event, Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice Chairman of the Central VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee conveyed a peace message by the Central VBS’s Patriarch and encouraged Buddhists to uphold the Buddha’s teachings for Buddhist propagation and the socio-economic development in the country.
Speaking at the Vesak celebration 2015, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Hồng Lĩnh highly appreciated practical contributions of Buddhist dignitaries and followers to the local socio-economic development and exposed his being that provincial VBS would further promote the Buddhist tradition “protect the country and bring peace for everyone”.
According to the organization board, the provincial Executive Committee donated VND 50million for building solidarity houses for 2 poor families in Ky Bac commune, Ky Anh district and presented gifts to 15 excellent Buddhists in doctrine contest in the Ha Tinh province.
