The God Caodai Church held on August 3 its 2nd congress for the 2017-2022 term at Tay Thanh oratory located in Can Tho city.
The event saw the participation of about 150 delegates from 5 provinces having the God Caodai Church’s followers.
Distinguished guests at the event included Director of the Caodai Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn and representatives of concerning local authorities.
The congress discussed results of social, religious activities of the Caodai Church in the first term (2012-2017) and approved working plans for the next term.
The one-day congress also elected 9 members to the God Caodai Church’s Representative Committee for the 2017-2022 term with Mr. Hà Phú Ngạch nominated as the Committee Chairman.
As reported at the event, dignitaries and followers of the God Caodai Church have contributed a total of over VND 2.3 billion to social charities over the past five years.
Speaking at the event, Director Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn praised the Church’s achievements over the past years and expressed his hope that the Church will further encourage followers to actively engage in local movements for socio-economic development in the locality.
The God Caodai Church is one of Caodai sects in Vietnam and currently has four parishes and one worshipping place in Can Tho city and the provinces of Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, with about 1,000 followers.
