Khanh Hoa provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee handed over the appointment decisions to five Buddhist monks sent to serve in five pagodas in Truong Sa (Spratly) islands at a ceremony held on January 19.
Two of the five appointed monks will continue their mission, while the remainders will come to Truong Sa islands for the first time. The appointed monks will serve Buddhist practices and rites in Truong Sa islands for a period of one year.
This is the 10th time the provincial VBS’s executive committee sent Buddhists monks to Truong Sa islands.
