Dong Thap province: Hoa Hao Buddhist followers contributes to build rural bridges and roads

In the recent years, Hoa Hoa Buddhist followers in Tan Hoa commune, Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province actively took part in movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and local authorities for community development such as the movement "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas", the campaign "Day for the Poor" and the national target program for new rural development. 

Especially, Hoa Hoa Buddhist followers have contributed materials and money to build rural bridges and roads, with 40 new concrete bridges completed, worth more than 5 billion VND. Recently, to meet aspirations of local people, the Hoa Hao Buddhist association of Tan Hoa commune expanded bridges constructions in other communes such as: Phong Hoa, Dinh Hoa, Long Thang, Vinh Thoi, Tan Thanh… In particular, the Can Co – Tan Loi bridge has been constructed and inaugurated connecting the two districts of Lai Vung and Lap Vo, with 27m length and 3.5m wide, by concrete structures and with a total budget of over 400 million VND.
