Chairman of Hai Duong provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Như Độ joint a large numbers of Buddhist monks, nuns and followers at the event.

Dong pagoda, also known as Than Quang temple, has been established for many centuries.

The reconstruction of the pagoda was started in 2013 and its main worshipping hall has been basically completed after more than two years of construction with a total construction cost of nearly VND 2 billion raised from private donors.
