The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Da Nang City’s Hai Chau district held on October 29 a meeting for reviewing its Buddhist affairs in the 2016-2021 tenure and announcing the new VBS executive board for the 2021-2026 tenure.
Guests at the event taking place at Phap Lam pagoda located in the district’s Nam Duong ward included dignitaries of VBS’s chapters in Da Nang and its districts, and representatives of local authorities.
As reported at the event, in the 2016-2021 tenure, the district VBS’s chapter has made practical contributions valued at billions of VND through social, charitable programs in the locality.
During the meeting, Buddhist groups and individuals of the district VBS chapter with practical contributions for Buddhist affairs in the 2016-2021 tenure were honored by the VBS’s chapter in the city and the municipal authority.
Besides, a new 36-member district VBS chapter’s executive board for the 2021-2026 tenure with Most Venerable Thích Từ Nghiêm re-elected as head of the executive board made its debut at the event.
