This event was part of the program for Buddhist Spring festivals 2015 in Dien Bien, co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Committee for Buddhist Propagation and the Dien Bien provincial VBS Executive Committee and attended by a large number of Buddhists in the locality.

Buddhist dignitaries attending the ceremony included Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Chairman of the VBS Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Standing Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Trung Hậu, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council cum Director of the VBS Central Committee for Buddhist Propagation; Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Secratery General of the of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the Dien Bien provincial VBS Executive Committee.

Local guests at the Buddhist event were representatives from the provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee and concerning departments and agencies.

During the ceremony, candle lights representing Buddhist wisdom in combination with  Buddhists’ sincere thoughts and wishes created a serene atmosphere to pray for spiritual uplifting to every one, and peace and prosperity to the country.
