A solemn ceremony was held on September 8 at Linh Ung Ba Na pagoda located in Da Nang city’s Hoa Vang district for commemorating the 2nd death anniversary of Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nguyện.
The event was chaired by Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Thích Trí Tịnh and Venerable Abbot of Linh Ung pagoda Thích Chúc Tín, and attended by large numbers of monks, nuns and followers in the city.
Performing religious ritual
During the ceremony, Buddhist monks, nuns, followers and delegates performed commemorating and worshiping rituals and paid homage late Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nguyện.
Presenting gift sets to poor people
On this occasion, Linh Ung pagoda handed over 140 gift sets to disadvantaged pupils with high academic results in four mountainous districts of Hoa Son, Hoa Bac, Hoa Ninh and Hoa Lien in Hoa Vang district, 100 support packets to poor patients at Da Nang cancer hospital, and 60 gift sets to poor people in Hoa Ninh commune.
