Responding to the message of Pope Francis on the 32nd World Youth Day, Da Nang diocese opened its the Youth Day in Phu Thuong parish under Hoa Vang Deanery on April 8.
Attending the event included Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, non-resident Special Envoy of the Vatican to Vietnam, Bishop of Da Nang diocese Joseph Đặng Đức Ngân and nearly 1,200 youth in the diocese and Catholic students studying in Da Nang city.
During the celebration, the youth exchanged on advantages, disadvantages and experiences in pastoral activities for the youth, as well as working plans in the coming time. They also called on the pastoral council of parishes to create further favorable conditions for youth activities.
Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli and Bishop Joseph Đặng Đức Ngân also took the chance to speak about fine traditions of the Church during the Lent Festival and urged the youth to follow typical examples of the Church to serve society.
