Venerable Thích Trung Diệu was formally appointed as Abbot of Hai Van Son Pagoda at a ceremony held on July 22 by Da Nang city’s Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee.
The event saw participation of Most Venerable Member of the city’s VBS Executive Committee Thích Như Thọ, Buddhist dignitaries from the city’s VBS Executive Committee, abbots of the city’s pagodas and monasteries, and large numbers of followers in the locality.
Chairman of the city’s Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Khôi and representatives of the city’s People Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front also joint with Buddhists at the ceremony.
While extending congratulatory greetings to the new Abbot of Hai Van Son Pagoda at the ceremony, Chairman Ngô Khôi encouraged Venerable Thích Trung Diệu to promote his roles for guiding Buddhists to practice the religion in accordance with the VBS’s Charter and the State’s laws.
