Construction of Buddhist temple in Ben Tre started

A stone-laying ceremony for the construction of Vinh An Pagoda’s main worshiping hall in Ben Tre province was held on September 4. 

The event saw the participation of Most Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council cum Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Committee for Social Charity Thích Như Niệm, Most Venerable Chairman of Ben Tre provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Nhựt Tấn, and large numbers of Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the locality. Representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee also joint Buddhists at the ceremony.

Vinh An Pagoda, located in the province’s Mo Cay Nam district, was built in 1922 on an area of 1 hectares by Most Venerable Giác Hòa.
