The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Kon Tum province held on June 30 a ceremony for consecration of three Buddha statues and inauguration of the main worshipping temple of Khanh Son pagoda located in the province’s Sa Thay district.
Present at the event included Most Venerable Member of the VBS’s Discernment Council Thích Chánh Quang, Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s executive committee in Kon Tum Thích Quảng Xả, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Kon Tum Bùi Duy Chung, Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs in the province Vũ Quang Dũng, representatives of local authorities and a large number of Buddhist followers.
As reported at the ceremony, the three Buddha statues and the Sanctum of Khanh Son pagoda have been completed after five years of construction.
During the event, Chairman of the People’s Committee in Sa Thay district Nguyễn Kim Thái presented a certificate of recommendation of the provincial government to Khanh Son pagoda for its social charities carried out in the district.
On the occasion, the pagoda presented over 1,500 gift sets to disadvantaged households in the locality.
