A medical charity program for the poor in Phuc Dia Parish in Thanh Hoa province’s Quang Phu district took place in December 16 ahead of Christmas 2017.
The Christmas charity program was organized with supports of several hospitals from Hanoi and Thanh Hoa province, a club of doctors and friends of Great Holy Cross Knight Lê Đức Thịnh, and the participation of a delegation of about 100 doctors and nurses led by Doctor head of personnel office of Oncology Hospital in Hanoi and leader of the club Nguyễn Đức Văn.
The charity event provided free heath examination and medicines for 600 people. In addition, the delegation presented 200 gifts of cash worth VND 100 million to locals on occasion of the upcoming Christmas.
Phuc Dia Parish is the place suggested by Bishop President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh for the medical charity delegation to voluntarily support and share with the poor.
The parish in Quang Phu commune is located 60 km away from Thanh Hoa provincial city and currently managed by Priest Joseph Phạm Văn Quế. Meanwhile Quang Phu commune is home to 5 thousand Catholic followers, accounting for 95% of the commune population, and leaders of the commune’s authorities are all Catholic.
