Central region’s religious heritage discussed

The Institute for the Study of Religion under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts Studies in Hue city held a workshop on “Issues of Central region’s religious heritage” on July 24.

The workshop aimed to further clarify values of the religious heritage in Central region and proposed plans for preserving and promoting heritage values in the region as well as in Vietnam.

At the event, 22 presentations and articles by researchers inside and outside the central region evaluated scientifically and objectively on tangible and intangible religious heritage, and cultural and historical values of the religious heritage in the Central region, including those belong to Buddhism, Catholicism and other traditional religions.

According to researcher Nguyễn Hữu Thông, these presentations would  be useful for identification, preservation and promotion of the religious heritage values in Hue city in particular and Central region in general.
