On October 1st, 2014, a delegation of the Central Buddhists Guiding Committee under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) led by its Vice Executive Chairman Most Venerable Thích Thanh Hùng paid working visits to the provincial VBS Executive Committee and the provincial Buddhists Guiding Committee of Dong Nai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau provinces. This is part of a working trip to six provinces in the Southeastern region from October 1 to 3rd, 2014.
At the Office of Ba Ria – Vung Tau provincial VBS Executive Committee, the Central Buddhists Guiding Committee delegation met with Most Venerable Thích Quảng Hiển – Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee and Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the locality.
At Tinh Hoi pagoda in Dong Nai province, the Central Buddhists Guiding Committee delegation met with Most Venerable Thích Phước Tú, Director of the provincial VBS Committee for Buddhist Rites and Protocols, Most Venerable Thích Huệ Tâm, Director of the provincial Buddhists Guiding Committee and Buddhist dignitaries and believers in the locality.

At working meetings, the Central Buddhists Guiding Committee delegation heard reports on Buddhist situation and activities of the Buddhists Guiding Committees in the two provinces over the past years, including organization of summer camps, religious courses for youth, organization of Buddhist weddings and other Buddhist exchanges.
Buddhist dignitaries in the two localities also briefed the guests about the current operation of the Buddhists Guiding Committees’ subcommittees in charge of lay Buddhists, Buddhist families, ethnic Buddhists and Buddhist youth.
In particular, the Buddhists Guiding Committees’ subcommittee in Dong Nai province asked for support from the provincial Dong Nai VBS Executive Committee in order to obtain recognition for Buddhist Youth Board and Ethnic Buddhists Board.
