Catholics in Tra Vinh join efforts in Covid-19 fight

Responding the motto “Fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic like fighting against enemies” of the government, Catholics in Tra Vinh province have actively engaged in preventing the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the new complicated context of Covid-19 pandemic, Vinh Long Diocese has timely released a notification requesting the suspension of all masses and religious practices with large gatherings in Catholic churches and chapels under the diocese. The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Tra Vinh also issued a formal note sent the Catholic solidarity board in districts and provincial cities on prevention measures against Covid-19 pandemic.

Implementing guidelines of local authorities and the diocese, Catholic churches, chapels and religious orders in the province have requested parishioners to strictly observe the pandemic’s prevention measures, and organized online masses through social networks such as Zalo and Facebook.

As reported, in the new context of Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Catholic solidarity committee in the province has presented 35 million VND to the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front for supporting the pandemic prevention work in the locality.
