Parishioners from parishes of An Duc and Tin Duc in Tien Giang province solemnly prayed for their ancestors at ceremonies held on 2nd day of first lunar month.
The ceremonies were held at the site of the parishes’ cemeteries during the Vietnam lunar new year festival.
During the ceremonies, local Catholics lit incense, candles and made prayers for dead ancestors and relatives. These grateful activities also reflect a fine feature of the Vietnamese culture, expressing respect and gratitude toward one’s ancestor.
