Catholic Parish in Da Lat celebrates 50th founding anniversary

  Bishop of Da Lat Dominic Nguyễn Văn Mạnh led on July 26 a thanksgiving mass for the fifty-year development of Chi Lang Parish at the parish church located in Da Lat City’s ward 9 in the central Highlands of Lam Dong.

The thanksgiving ceremony drew large numbers priests, deacons, clergymen, clergywomen of Da Lat diocese, and thousands of parishioners.

Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of Lam Dong provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Minh An and representatives of local authorities.

As reported at the event, Chi Lang Parish was formed upon a decree signed by Bishop Simon Hoà Nguyễn Văn Hiền on July 26, 1960.

Chi Lang Parish currently has 187 Catholics families with about 500 members, and a SOS Village. The parish has inaugurated a new, spacious church in 2007.
