A groundbreaking ceremony for Truc Lam Ta Lung pagoda was held on Dec. 1 in Ta Lung town, Phuc Hoa district, Cao Bang province.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Council, Mr. Lê Minh Khánh, Deputy Director of Department of Buddhist Affairs under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, local authorities and thousands of Buddhists in the locality.
Speaking at the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Gia Quang - Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council, Head of Cao Bang provincial VBS’s Executive Committee emphasized that Truc Lam Ta Lung pagoda in Ta Lung border gate will serve as a Buddhist cultural and spiritual destination in the border region.
At the ceremony, Vice-Chairman of Cao Bang provincial People’s Committee Đàm Văn Eng expressed that the construction of this pagoda marked a new development of Buddhism in Cao Bang province.
On this occasion, Cao Bang provincial VBS’s Executive Committee presented 25 bicycles to poor pupils in 3 communes of Dai An, My Hung and Ta Lung town in Phuc Hoa district
