Cai Bau pagoda in Northeast Frontier on first days of spring

Cai Bau pagoda, or Giac Lam Zen Monastery, one of the two major Buddhist monasteries in Quang Ninh province, has now become an attractive destination not to be missed for spiritual tourism on first days of the spring.  

Cai Bau pagoda is built on the foundation of Phuc Linh Tu pagoda having existed for 700 years. Standing back to back with the mountain and toward the beach, the pagoda located in Van Don district’s Ha Long commune attracts tourists by unique architecture as well as its historical and spiritual values.

Facilities of the temple covering on the total area of 20 hectares include a sanctum, a main hall, ancestral home, Tam Quan gate, accommodation for monks and nuns, guest houses and so on.

The two-storey sanctum has a total area of 6.000 square meters with a big Shakyamuni Buddha Statue placed on the upper storey. From here one can look down Bai Tu Long Bay with full-ranged landscapes.

According to shared experiences, the most ideal time for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the natural landscapes and the tranquility of the pagoda is around the first to the third lunar month.
