Buddhism in Tien Giang province currently has 1,540 monks and nuns, one Buddhist school and 412 Buddhist worshipping places.
During the 8th term (2012-2017), Buddhist dignitaries and followers in Tien Giang province contributed over VND 216 million to social charities, including building charity houses, presenting gifts to AO victims, the poor and excellent pupils, organization of eye surgeries for blind people, and supports to the poor and patients in hospitals in the locality.
Receiving certificate of merits from the provincial People’s Committee
On occasion of the 9th congress ( 2017-2022 tenure) of the VBS chapter in Tien Giang province, the provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented certificates of merits to eight Buddhist groups and four individuals for their social contributions over the past five years.
