Buddhist Sangha in Tien Giang presents 3,000 gift sets to disadvantaged people on occasion of Vu Lan Festival

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in the Southern Province of Tien Giang held a charity program on August 27 for presenting 3,000 gift sets to the disadvantaged in the locality of occasion of Vu Lan - Buddhist Parents’ Day Festival.
During the program, three Buddhist delegations led by Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang Thích Huệ Minh, Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial Buddhist executive committee Thích Giác Nhân and Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial Buddhist committee Thích Quảng Lộc have visited and distributed gift sets in districts of Cho Gao, Chau Thanh, Cai Be, Ca Lay and Tan Phuoc.
The charity program implemented in collaboration with the Fatherland Front Committee in the province was valued at 1.5 billion VND; each gift set includes rice, noodle and some cash.
