The annual summer retreat of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Tien Giang province formally opened at a ceremony held on May 29 in Vinh Trang pagoda located in the provincial city of My Tho.
Attending the ceremony included Buddhist dignitaries from the VBS executive committee in the province, representatives of local authorities and 470 participating monks and nuns in the locality.

As planned, the summer retreat of the VBS chapter Tien Giang this year will take place at four venues separately for local monks and nuns.
In addition to Buddhist programs, the organizing board of the Buddhist retreat in the province will invite provincial officials to share about state policies religious on freedom and national unity, as well as the new law on belief and religion.
