Buddhist Sangha in Nam Tu Liem district convenes congress

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Hanoi city’s Nam Tu Liem district held on November 16 its congress for the 2021-2026 tenure.  

Jointing the event taking place at Me Tri Thuong pagoda included dignitaries of the VBS chapter in the city, heads of Buddhist worshipping places in the district, and representatives of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and concerning local authorities.

The congress elected a new executive board of VBS chapter in Nam Tu Liem district for the 2021-2026 tenure with Venerable Thích Quảng Tĩnh selected as Head of the executive board.

As reported at the event, the VBS chapter in the district has contributed nearly 4.7 billion VND to the social charity work in the locality during the 2016-2021 tenure.

On this occasion, the district VBS executive board in collaboration with Nhan My School of Calligraphy organized a calligraphy exhibition themed "Traditional Values of Confucianism - Buddhism" based at Me Tri Thuong pagoda from November 14-20.

On behalf of Nhan My School of Calligraphy, Principal Lê Trung Kiên presented a Buddhist calligraphy work to the new district VBS chapter’s executive board.
