Buddhist places in Cu Chi proactively engage in environmental protection

Cu Chi district in Ho Chi Minh City is currently home to over 200 Buddhist establishments.  

For the past years, Buddhist followers in the district have proactively joint movements launched by local authorities and the Fatherland Front for socio-economic development in the locality

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Cu Chi annually invites presenters from the Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to share and update information on environmental issues with participating monks and nuns of the Summer Retreat, and distributes over 500 stamps calling for classification of waste by local households and manuals promoting the environment protection.

Hoang Ling pagoda in An Nhon Tay commune has planted 520 bonsais along the entrance road to the pagoda, worth 80 million VND, creating a green and beautiful space for travelers.

Thien Phuc pagoda in Trung Lap Thuong commune contributed a total of 1.6 billion VND for concretizing and planting flower trees along Nguyen Thi Day road of 710m long and 6m wide in Trung Hieu village.
