A ceremony for Phap Bao Pagoda in My Tho City’s Ward 5 in Tien Giang province receiving the title of cultural worshipping place was held on December 3.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from My Tho city Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee and local Buddhists.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairwoman of My Tho city People's Committee Nguyễn Văn Vững and local authorities’ representatives.
Phap Bao pagoda is a Khmer Theravada Buddhist establishment. It was originally built in 1967 on an area of one hectare, and has been upgraded many times. After meeting all criteria of a cultural worshipping place, the currently spacious pagoda has been awarded the cultural worshipping title by My Tho city People's Committee.
