Chac Bang Moi pagoda located in Kien Giang province’s Vinh Thuan district held on January 31 a ceremony for inaugurating its new preaching hall.
Present at the event featuring the Khmer Theravada Buddhism were Most Venerable Member of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Kien Giang Danh Đổng, representatives of provincial authorities and other religions in Vinh Thuan district, and large numbers of monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in Kien Giang and neighboring provinces.
The construction of the pagoda’s preaching hall on an area of 513 square meters was started in May 2016 and has been completed after four years of work. The total investment of the construction is nearly three billion VND, which was raised by the pagoda amongst its Buddhists and philanthropists.
