Buddhist pagoda in Ben Tre sends supports to people in Covid-19 isolation zone

Senior Venerable Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Ben Tre province’s Chau Thanh district Thích Thanh Mẫn extended on July 7 a visit for presenting supports to people in a Covid-19 temporary isolation area located in An Khanh commune’s An My hamlet of the district.  

Accompanying with the Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Mẫn included Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Social Charities Board in Chau Thanh Thích Xuân Trí and members from Buddhist Bo De club of Linh Phuoc pagoda.

During the visit, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Mẫn handed over 75 gift sets; each contains 10 kilograms of rice, one noodle box, cooking oils, monosodium glutamates, soy sauces, facemarks and some cash, valued at 500 thousand VND in total.

As reported, authorities in Ben Tre province on July 3 temporarily locked down part of An My hamlet with 48 residents from June 30 to July 17 for preventing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. The temporary isolation area is around a home of a Covid-19 case detected in Tien Giang province in June 30.
