The association for solidarity of patriotic Buddhist monks in Ca Mau province held on December 29 a meeting to review results of activities 2018 and approve the working plan for 2019.
Attending the event included 30 monks and representatives from the management board of Khmer pagodas and salatels (cultural and communal houses) in the province.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đoàn Tấn Sỹ, Vice Chairman of the provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee Nguyễn Văn Thuật and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Hòa Dựa were amongst distinguished guests at the event.
As reviewed at the event, over the past year, local Khmer followers contributed over VND 200 million to social, charitable activities in the locality. In addition, the Buddhist solidarity Association organized disseminating conferences on the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 and its guiding decree for 12,000 Khmer people, and 41 Khmer language classes with the attendance of 700 children in the locality.
According to the meeting report, Ca Mau province has about 30,000 Khmer people with seven worshipping establishments under Khmer Theravada Buddhism.
