The solidarity association of patriotic monks in the southern province of Tra Vinh held on January 24 the graduation ceremony of elementary and intermediate Khmer Pali courses 2020 for graduating monks in the province.
Present at the ceremony taking place in Diep Thach pagoda located in the province’s Tra Vinh city saw the presence of Most Venerable Thạch Sok Xane, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter’s Executive Committee in Tra Vinh; Most Venerable Đào Như Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council, Chairman of the VBS Chapter’s Executive Committee in Can Tho City cum Principal of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Institute in Can Tho; Deputy Head of the Khmer Pali School in Tra Vinh Lâm So Rone; Buddhist dignitaries of the VBS Chapter in Tra Vinh and Diep Thach Pagoda; and 474 graduating monks.
Guests at the event included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Văn Tịnh and representatives of the provincial commission on mass mobilization and the municipal authorities of Tra Vinh.

Speaking at the ceremony Most Venerable Đào Như Vice, Principal of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Institute in Can Tho City, extended congratulations to graduation monks and informed them that they could apply for higher education at the Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh City or the Khmer Theravada Buddhist Institute in Can Tho.
Chairman of the Provincial Commission on Mass Mobilization of Tra Vinh took the chance to ask the VBS executive committee in the province to organize more Khmer language classes for Khmer pupils and students at pagodas in the locality, contributing to jointly preserve the Khmer ethnic language.
