Senior Venerable Thích Lệ Tấn, the abbot of Giac Hoa pagoda located in Long An province’s Tan Thanh district, is well-known for his great contributions to the construction of 16 bridges for disadvantaged communes in the province.
The Senior Venerable has raised funds for building 16 reinforced concrete and steel cable-stayed bridges with 3metres wide, with 13 bridges was completed in the first 6 months of 2018 for disadvantaged localities in the province.
As reported, the estimated cost for each bridge is generally from VND 200 to 400 million. Remarkably, the construction cost for the bridge in Tan Hung district’s Hung Dien B commune is VND 2.4 billion and VND 5.57 billion for another bridge in Cai Be district.
According to the Senior Venerable, because of the approaching flood season, so he has urged the construction units to speed up the building progress as well as to ensure the quality for the bridges.
In addition to the rural bridge building, Giac Hoa pagoda has also organized charity programs worth at over VND 6.327 billion for helping the poor, eye patients, etc.
