Buddhist group in Da Dang presented gifts to ethnic children, disadvantaged families in Quang nam

A Buddhist group from Da Nang city organized on October 8 a charity program for ethnic children and poor households in Phuoc Loc commune, Quang Nam province’s Phuoc Son district.

The delegation included Buddhist dignitaries and believers from pagodas of Hoa Tho, Tan Ninh and Lien Trì in Da Nang city.

During the event, 225 gift bags including moon cakes, notebooks, learning tools, hats, raincoats and blankets were given to local children. The delegation also held a traditional dragon and lion dance and handed over 220 gift packages containing necessities for disadvantaged households in the locality. Total cost of the charity program was nearly 140 million VND, contributed by sponsors and Buddhists.

This charity program has been held annually by the pagodas of Hoa Tho and Tan Ninh annually organized for supporting children in disadvantaged areas at the start of the school year.
