The Buddhist college in Tien Giang province based in Vinh Trang pagoda located in the province’s My Tho City started the school year 2019-2020 at a solemn ceremony held on August 31.
Present at the ceremony were Most Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council Thích Giác Toàn, Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang cum Rector of the Buddhist College Thích Huệ Minh, and 300 student monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.
Guests at the event included Chairwoman of Tien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thị Mai, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the province Trần Văn Thi.

As reported, the Buddhist College in Tien Giang this year runs the 2nd (2018-2020) and 3rd (2019-2021) three-year courses on Buddhist studies, and the 7th middle-level (2017-2020) and 6th elementary-level (2019-2020) Buddhist courses.
On the occasion, the college presented the graduation certificates to all 53 monks and nuns of the 1st Buddhist course (2017-2019).
