Buddhist chapter in Tien Giang send relief to local disadvantaged people

Several social charity boards under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in Tiền Giang province held on October 12-14 several charity programs for supporting disadvantaged people in the locality.

During the events, 260 gift sets including rice, noodles and seasoning were presented to blind people in districts of Tan Phuoc and Cai Lay and 80 scholarships were awarded to poor pupils in Cai Be district. In addition, a charitable house was formally handed over to a poor household in the province’s My Tho city.

As reported, the total cost of the charity programs were 140 million VND, contributed by Buddhist charity boards in districts of Tan Phuoc and Cai Lay and the provincial VBS’s social charity committee.
