On October 23, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province’s Ba Ria city solemnly held its 2nd Buddhist congress.
Attending the event included Most Venerable Chairman of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Quảng Hiển, representatives of the VBS’s executive board in the province’s districts, and over 200 monks, nuns and followers in the Ba Ria city.
As reported at the congress, Ba Ria city’s VBS Chapter has recorded many achievements in social and religious activities in the locality for the past five years, including the upgrade of nine worshipping establishments and charitable activities valued at over VND 15 billion.
The congress selected 19 members to the VBS’s Executive Board for the 2nd tenure (2016 – 2021) with Venerable Thích Nguyên Bình, Abbot of Long Quang Pagoda, as Head of the Board.
