The Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Representative Committee in Kien Giang province held on January 11 a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 98th birthday of the sect’s founder, Prophet Huỳnh Phú Sổ, at the church’s office located in Rach Gia city.
Attending the ceremony included Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Danh Phúc, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trương Hoàng Anh, representatives from other religious organizations and a larger number of Hoa Hao Buddhists in the province.

On the occasion, the Hoa Hao Buddhist executive committee reviewed its performance in 2017 and set out working plan for 2018. As reported, Hoa Hao Buddhists in the province have contributed over VND 36 billion for social, charity activities in 2017.
