On March 26, Ben Tre provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee held a ceremony for formally appointing Nun Thích Nữ Cương Liên as Abbess of Ngoc Truoc pagoda in Ben Tre city’s Phu Khuong ward.
Attending the ceremony included Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Nhật Tấn, Buddhist dignitaries and followers inside and outside the province. Representatives from the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Religious Affairs Committee also attended the event.
During the event, Most Venerable Thích Nhật Tấn congratulated the new Abbess and encouraged Buddhist followers of Ngoc Truoc pagoda to preserve and promote the pagoda’s fine traditions.
