Ghositaram Pagoda is one of these attracting places. The temple has a Khmer Theravada Buddhism design with delicate decorations. Beside paintings on walls depicting stories about the Buddha’s life, it bears sacred animal symbols of Khmer  culture.

The largest pagoda located in Bac Lieu and close to Ghositaram, called Xiem Can or Komphisako in Khmer, is considered as the most beautiful and magnificent amongst 22 Khmer pagoda in the province.  The temple was built in 1887 on an area of 50,000 m2 with Angkor architectural design. The Buddhist complex has a main worshipping hall, a cemetery of towers and other supporting facilities, such houses for Buddhist monks, etc.
