Phat Tich Pagoda in Tien Du district’s Bac Ninh province held a solemnly ceremony to celebrate the Buddha Birthday’s Festival 2016 – B.E 2560 on May 14.
Attending the ceremony were Venerable Chairman of Bac Ninh provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Thanh Phụng, Venerable General Secretary of the VBS Executive Council Thích Đức Thiện, and large numbers of monks, nuns and followers in the district.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman cum Secretary of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trần Thanh Mẫn, Chief Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thanh Hà and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Phong.
Talking with Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, Vice Chairman Bùi Thanh Hà extended best wishes to Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers in the city on occasion of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2016. He also hailed practical contributions made by the district VBS, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in social and charitable activities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
On this occasion, Tien Du district’s VBS urged Buddhist dignitaries and followers to proactively join the election of members of the National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 tenure to be held on May 22.
During the ceremony, delegates, Buddhist dignitaries and followers performed Buddhist rituals together to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.
