The association for solidarity of patriotic monks in Soc Trang province held on August 3 a meeting to review its performance in the first six months 2018 and outline the working plans for the second half of the year.
The event chaired by Most Venerable Head of the Association Dương Nhơn and attended by the participation of local authorities’ representatives.
As reported at the meeting, the Buddhist association has encouraged Buddhists monks and followers to make practical contributions worth billions of VND to social programs and movements launched by local authorities for building cultural lifestyles in residential areas and helping the poor for the half of the year 2018. In addition, Theravada Buddhist pagodas in the province also organized Khmer language classes for nearly 6,000 monks and Khmer children.
