The campaign to fly the national flag at religious establishments in Phu Tho province has well been supported by religious followers.
Up to now, in many localities such as Viet Tri city, 100% of religious establishments have responded to the national flag raising.
In Bai Moc Catholic parish in Viet Tri city’s Minh Nong ward, although the Lunar New Year has passed, the national flag has still flied along the village streets, alleys and at the parish’s church.
Head of the Executive Board of Bai Moc parish Vũ Văn Chung told that the executive board had actively shared about the meaning of the national flag raising with local parishioners.
Deputy Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in Phu Tho province Thích Đàm Nhã said that the VBS executive committee had asked all Buddhist worshipping establishments in the locality to raise the national flag raising accordance with instructions and specifications, contributing to enhance national unity and engaged Buddhism in Vietnam.
Viet Tri city currently has three major religions of Catholicism, Buddhism and Protestantism, with eight Catholic churches and congregations, 34 Buddhist pagodas and five Protestant congregations.
