Adjusting religious practices at worshipping places in Ho Chi Min City

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in Ho Chi Minh City issued on March 9 a notification for Buddhist affairs in the new situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the city.  

According to the formal note, the VBS executive committee asked VBS executive boards in the city’s districts and monks and nuns in charge of Buddhist worshipping establishments in the locality to adjust plans and programs of Buddhist affairs in the first 6 months of 2021 according to the new situation and increase the implementation of measures for the COVID-19 epidemic prevention, including the 5K recommendation of the health sector.

The Buddhist executive committee also called on local monks, nuns and lay Buddhists to practically contribute to the Covid-19 vaccination program for protecting the public health and controlling the epidemic.

Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City archdiocese’s office announced the resume of Catholic masses and practices from March 9 with a strict implementation of the 5K recommendation of the health sector for the Covid-19 epidemic prevention.
