A floating temple in Saigon river

Mieu Noi (floating temple) is located in a branch of the Saigon river and known as the sacred temple. The architecture of the temple combines Vietnamese and Chinese cultures, many dragon shapes make the distinction of the temple.

Mieu Noi (called Phu Chau temple) is located in Vam Thuat river (in the ward 5, Go Vap district) and considered as one of the most unique architectural work in Vietnam. Mieu Noi was built on a small island of 2,500 m2 in the middle of Vam Thuat river. According to legend, in the 18th century, a fishing man in Vam Thuat river saw a dead woman in his fishing net. He buried the woman body on the isle and then set up a small shrine to worship her.
