20 religious volunteers in Nam Dinh honored for services against Covid-19

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Chapter in Nam Dinh has organized a ceremony for honoring Buddhist dignitaries of the VBS chapter and monks of the Buddhist School in the province for their voluntary services in the Covid-19 fight in Southern localities.  

Present at the event included Seniour Venerable Thích Quảng Hà, Vice President of the VBS’s Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in Nam Dinh; Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee in the province Lương Hùng Tiến; and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Mạnh Hải.

Speaking at the ceremony Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee in the province Lương Hùng Tiến highly appreciated the precious services offered by the religious volunteers to the COVID-19 fight and efforts of the Buddhist Sangha in Nam Dinh in supporting the pandemic prevention and control work in the country over the past months. 

During the event, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented certificates of recommendation to 20 Buddhist volunteers for completing their precious services in the Covid-19 fighting frontline.

As reported, 20 voluntary monks and nuns have served in a medical center for treatment of Covid-19 patients in Long An province and the 13th Field Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. They have returned on September 22 and undertook quarantine in line of existing regulations.
