The 7th congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province was successfully held on November 10.
The congress elected Most Venerable Thích Huệ Trí as Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in the province for the 2022-2027 tenure.

As reviewed at the congress, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the VBS in the province have spent nearly 420 billion VND on social charities for presenting foods, medicines, medical supplies and essential necessities to the pandemic prevention work and disadvantaged people affected by the pandemic.
On the occasion, provincial authorities presented certificates of commendation to 10 Buddhist groups and 20 individuals for their practical contribution over the past years, and the VBS’s executive committee in the province handed over 200 billion VND for supporting the construction of charitable houses for the poor in the locality.
