Catholic community actively engages in emulation movements

The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) held on October 11 a meeting in Binh Duong province for reviewing activities in Southern region 2024 and launching patriotic emulation movements 2025.

The CSVC in the Southern region cover seven provinces and cities of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh city.

During the event, representatives from the CSVC in the Southeast region highlighted achievements and limitations in implementing patriotic movements and mapped out key tasks in the coming time, as well as signed the emulation plan for 2025.

As reported at the gathering, in 2024, Catholic communities in the Southern region have well implemented the Party and the State guidelines and policies, and actively joined patriotic movements for boosting socio-economic developments in localities. Local Catholic followers have spent 483 billion VND on charities, education promotion and health care.

Earlier, the CSVC also held a similar meeting in Tien Giang province for reviewing the implementation of patriotic emulation movements 2024 in Southwest region.

According to the report at the event, in 2024, Catholic communities in Southwest region have practically launched social and charitable projects in fields of education, health care for the disadvantaged, presenting scholarships, books, bicycles to pupils of poor families with excellent school results, and providing wheelchairs to people with disabilities, etc with the total contribution of nearly 146 billion VND.

The gathering also mapped out key tasks for 2025, registered and signed the emulation plan for 2025.
