The Caritas under the Archdiocese of Hanoi in collaboration with Anh Sang Eye Hospital organized on November 21, 23 and 25 a free lens replacement eye surgery program for 200 people from Northern provinces.

Earlier, the Caritas Hanoi and Anh Sang Eye Hospital co-organized screening examinations for these patients at Dai Lai Catholic parish located in Nam Dinh province on October 26, and at parishes of Dong Son, Lan Mat, Kim Bang, Lai Xa and Tan Lang located in Ha Nam province on October 28.

During the surgery, the modern Phaco eye surgery technique was applied so that the patients suffered less pain and the bandage can be removed after a few hours. Patients were also offered free meals by the Caritas under Co Nhue parish at the charity program.
Lens replacement eye surgery is one of the practical charity programs launched by the Caritas Hanoi for many years in order to bringing light, health and joy for disadvantaged patients.
